About us

Born at the foot
of a volcano.

Lavyra is a small workshop making artisanal Sicilian liqueurs. Few products, made well, from raw materials we know by name.

Myrtle berries
How it began

A Sardinian grandfather.
A bet.

Over twenty years ago a Sardinian grandfather brought the myrtle of his homeland to the foot of Mount Etna. Nobody believed in it: myrtle belongs to Sardinia, not to a volcano.

Yet the lava soil changed it. The berries became deeper, more balsamic, with a mineral note found nowhere else. That is where Perla Nera comes from, and Perla Nera is where Lavyra began.

What we believe in

Four promises,
no exceptions.

Our own myrtle

Perla Nera's berries come from our own plants, growing on Etna's soil for over twenty years.

Organic Sicilian fruit

Lemons, oranges and pomegranates come from certified organic Sicilian growers we choose one by one.

No shortcuts

No artificial flavourings or colourings. Just fruit, alcohol, sugar and the time it takes.

Small batches

We make little and take our time. Every batch is traceable on the label, from fruit to bottle.
